Barbara WagnerBarbara Wagner's oil paintings are at the same time vivid and bright, and evocative and compelling. Her work is generally characterized by a colorful pallete, plentiful texture, and satisfying composition.She says: "My paintings are abstract explorations of color, texture, line, shape, and space. They are frequently influenced by real subjects, such as Turkish Kilms, sea grass,...or old weathered gourds.I am an artist interested in process as well as concept. I usually paint directly with oils on linens. Surfaces frequently include sand, bits of handmade paper, horsehair, and other mixed media." Barbara Wagner is an artist with nearly 25 years of experience, working out of her studios in Vermont and Florida. She is a frequent instructor at the advanced college level and for numerous workshops; she has had numerous solo and group shows over her career. Often receiving awards and accolades for her work, her paintings are held in private and public collections throught the US, Canada and Europe. |
